Information:

Dan Jansen is currently the Project Director for CASE. He is coordinating operations and curriculum development activities with teacher representatives from CASE funding states. Prior to his assignment with CASE, Dan was an Instructor at Oregon State University for three years in the Agricultural Education and General Agriculture Department.

Dan taught secondary agricultural education at Sherwood High School in Oregon for ten years before accepting the Instructor position at OSU. Sherwood is a community southwest of Portland, which has been in transition from a rural farming and logging community to a suburban residence community for Portland area commuters. Because of the changes in the demographics of the community, Sherwood’s agricultural education program shifted from traditional production oriented curriculum to a science-based and consumer centered approach.

Oregon Vocational Agriculture Teachers' Association members awarded Dan the OVATA Young Teacher of the Year in 1998 and the Outstanding Agriculture Teacher in 2004. Dan continues to be an active member of the OVATA and works with local Oregon school districts to improve high school agriculture programs across the state. He recently completed a doctorate degree in Science Education with the focus of teacher efficacy, specifically, agriculture teacher efficacy toward enhancement of mathematics in agricultural education courses.
